10 Super Foods!

One of my favorite nutrition sources, Nutrition Action Health Letter, has named 10 super foods:
  • sweet potatoes
  • grape tomatoes
  • fat-free or 1% milk
  • broccoli
  • wild salmon
  • crisp-breads by wasa
  • microwavable quick cooking brown rice by Uncle Ben's (my personal favorite is Trader Joe's frozen pre-cooked brown rice--it microwaves perfectly!)
  • citrus fruit
  • pre-diced butternut squash
  • spinach and kale

I read the 10 super foods on the Nutrition Action Health Letter this afternoon. I was surprised to learn that Smoothie King's smoothies were "named" as bad. I love them and thought they were a healthy alternative! Of course, it was no surprise to see Cold Stone Creamery on the list. My tummy thanks you for the tip!

I also read the food list, and it is too bad about the smoothies. The high sodium in the soup is a good reminder to be careful on the salt content with canned and other packaged foods.
